The Instrumental Workshops
A series of 3 workshops culminated in a performance at the Festival Showcase Concert.
* Perform live on stage as a band
*Work with professional musicians
*Learn arrangement & performance techniques

Workshop 1 - Join the Band! - meet the other band members, learn to play the tunes and choose your repertoire
Workshop 2- Be Creative! - look at harmony, chords, rhythm and style to make the music unique
Workshop 3 - Fine-tune-it! - find out about performance skills, tips and tricks of the trades and rehearsing for the concert-
Saturday 4 - Festival Showcase Concert - Performing - the finished pieces of music!

Leaders Nick Wyke & Becki Driscoll are a fiddle duo who have performed throughout the country at folk clubs and festivals. They used traditional music as the starting point for the workshops, but invite everyone to bring their own ideas and creativity!

Friday 15 - Songwriting and performance with Ruth Notman,

Three workshops helped encourage young singers who wish to sing in any genre of music but principally aimed at folk music. Ros Brady is an experienced singer, songwriter and workshop leader. Lynne Heraud & Pat Turner are a duo with exceptional voices and wide experience on the festival and folk club circuit. Ruth Notman is an outstanding young singer songwriter starting to make a name for herself at festivals and folk clubs.

The Venue :Bideford Baptist Church
The nearest bus stop is on the quay in Bideford, all buses from everywhere stop there; including the National Express coaches. Car Parks are clearly signed in and as you enter the town. The Baptist Church is in the centre of the town in Mill Street which runs parallel to the Quay.
